He's A Boy!!!

When we announced the gender of our baby, we wanted it to be this really cool sha-bang.
I always liked the idea of having the ultrasound technician write the gender on a piece of paper in a sealed envelope.
(So even the parents don't know!)
Then they would go to a store and hand the paper over to the person filling balloons.
Next, that person would fill a box with whatever color (pink or blue)
and they would take the box home to open it with their family.

We did that in a way, but I wanted to know sooooo badly I could not help but ask the technician what we were having.
We asked our parents to leave the room, which they were not the least bit thrilled about!
She put the "wand" to my belly and she did not have to say anything.
She pointed and said "This is a leg"
and we saw it.
"This is the other leg"
She did not need to go any farther...
"And, well, this is NOT a leg."

I was silent.
And shocked!
I was so convinced we were having a girl!
(Even though every midwife's tale pointed otherwise!)

I could not stop smiling.
I always wanted a boy first!
Being the oldest sister I always wished I had a big protective brother,
and now our kids will have that!
(We will see about the protective part, hehe)

Jared's eyes met mine.

It was such a wonderful moment.
Minutes later we left that room with a little secret...
AND WE WERE HOUNDED FOR TWO DAYS!!!!!
...Just to get the answer out early!

But we still went to the store,
bought the balloons,
and had our sweet little nephew open the box of blue balloons.

It was so priceless to see everyone's face.

Life Lately

Over the last month, all of our Sunday school classes worked together to make a huge "Creation" project. Each class was given a day or two of creation, and with those days, build a huge poster. When all the classes worked together, each creation day's poster was lined up in a row and it looked really nice! Our class was assigned day 4. The day the sun, moon, stars and planets were created. (A pretty cool day if I do say so myself...) The teachers were asked to bring snacks matching with their day. I could not do it alone so I had my best friend "Spiffy" come over and help me make planet cakes and shooting star cupcakes! It was a huge success, and as usual, too much cake! I don't even like cake! (Except cheese cake! Mmmmmm!) Poor Jared misses these guys so bad. He has had to work Sundays again, so he never see's the kids! I asked them what we should name baby (Even though the names are chosen!) and I got the following names: Baby Flower, Aurora, (oddly enough, I had considered in the past) Cinderella, Dr. Pickle and Baby Spongebob. (My personal fav!) I asked them, "What about when it's not a baby anymore?" Old Man Spongebob?
Hmmmm.... I think we are just going to stick to the names we have!

Fakespiration

Feeling blah today, but I am faking it until I mean it.
It has been too long since I have picked up my violin.
If I want to be this good I need a LOT more practice.

Lindsey, proving violin can be totally BA.

My goal is to post a song on here by this summer.
Wish me luck!

I took this picture when we were driving, and obviously edited the bejeebers out
of it but I am really happy with how it turned out.

 Whatcha think?

Spring Excitement + A trip to Wendys

I am really excited for Spring this year. I have started getting our garden ready and I love when all the flowers come into the shops! I am a sucker for bright colors I suppose.

After we went to the store we were feeling hungry and did not want to spend a ton and I really did not want to go to McDonalds or some place like that. Super Bowl Sunday just killed me. It was like I instantly gained weight from all the goodies, cheesey dips and snacks around me. I did not really need anymore of that crap food but we were feeling like burgers soooooo somehow we ended pulling a u-turn and eating at Wendys.
First off, I noticed these little planter boxes by the drive thru. Pretty cool eh?

Next I was very impressed. We ordered from the value menu and my burger had everything a good burger should have. Cheese. Onion. Tomato.Lettuce. Pickles. +  no "What is this?" pieces in the meat. Awesome.
And what was even better was their fries. They actually tasted like potato! Imagine that!
So I haven't the slightest idea why Wendy's is not the leading fast food company. I left there not feeling like I need to sleep and shower or anything like that! I felt great! 5 Stars for Wendy's man! Hip Hip Hooray!
