A Question About Short Hair & My New Favorite Book

^---Right now this is my favorite book.
Yes, it is a children's book and I am an adult but quite frankly, I don't care! A good book is a good book right?  Right, right! For the most part it lives on our fridge next to our new, neat-o globe. *4$ Thrift Store find! Woop! Woop!* All the short stories within it are written really differently than the Disney stories I grew up with, which is a really refreshing change! Some of them are just totally ridiculous but others are just so wildly original, I love it! Jared and I have been reading random stories before bed and something I have learned is to have him read every other page or he falls asleep almost instantly...
 -_- ...z z Zz...
...which is rather discouraging when it took almost a week to read him 2 pages. I am not even joking.
He looks so sweet though, how could I be mad? However I think it might be a good idea to slow down on reading these crazy stories right before bed since it has been provoking some intensely weird dreams. I keep dreaming of bears. Bears. BEARS. BEARS!

And lastly as for my hair question...
So right now, my hair looks about like this.
Well, not really. My hair is really curly so this is after about 20 minutes of straitening. Everyday Single Day.
I don't know about you, but that is a lot more time than I want to spend on my hair every morning.
Any ideas on how to gracefully grow out hair with out looking like Napoleon Dinomite or Shari Lewis?

Hope you and an amazing day!

This Week at Our House...

I landed this awesome desk from my in-laws that I turned into a much wanted vanity.

These were the bird ornaments I received from the ornament exchange, now they live in our bedroom.

These little guys live are going to live on my new vanity. The camera was a gift to Jared I found at a thrift store and the vintage "Snow White" lunch pale is filled with my treasures! Also this week I broke my violin bow. Yup, I want a new one, hopefully soon!

We made omelets. Did you know eggs + rice milk does this? Cool!

Banana carvings were made, and we bought a night light for our bedroom.

The fog has been rolling through the mountains, sprinkling snow here and there.
Still waiting for snow!
Pretty easy, monotonous week. I can't wait until school starts up again! (But then again, I can. Hehe)

Holiday Decorations

It is always such a great day when they are being put up,
And such a sad say when they come down.

This Christmas is going to be small, but really fun.

(Left side) You know how every year there are always strings of holiday lights that worked fine last year and are being stubborn this year? Instead of wasting a few hours trying to get them to work, I simply pulled out the bulbs and put them in to some fancy glasses. I suppose some years I will want to deal with 'em and some years I wont!
Also sorry the top of the wood stove is messy,
I clean that stuff off ALL THE TIME and it is right back the second we build a fire!
(Right side) A new painted bulb I found. Pretty sweet deal! .30 cents!
(Left side) We have too many stockings, but I just love them all!
(Right side) This is a little tree my mother in law made me for Jared and I's first Christmas.
We bought some brand used ornaments this year. I love the golden feather!

 I love my house.
My mother always made such a fuss about having the perfect angel for our Christmas tree as a child, so as an adult I did not want to settle on angel I did not totally adore. Every year I made a different tree topper until this year. I found her! She is simple, sweet and beautiful, don't you think?!
Beautifully detailed new Christmas ornament for us!

Our tree is up and I am just waiting for the snow!
What does your tree look like?

Good in Pairs

I don't want to start off on a negative note here, but it's a good introduction to my week so far. Everything in our house this week has been happening in 2's. Such as this pizza pan that we use all the time, which is now broken in two. Rest in pieces little pizza pan. My mom said she had an extra, that makes 2 pizza pans.

I am not sure what this style of art is called but it always catches my eye and has been popping up all over the place lately. But maybe it's that new car awareness syndrome? Once you buy a black Jeep suddenly everyone and their mother has a black Jeep. Or if you dye your hair red instantly you notice, red hair is not such a rare thing? Maybe that kind of thing?  Either way, I have a few birds like this but not an even number. Jared found this at a thrift store and wanted it. I begged him to buy it (maybe secretly for me too) because then we would finally have an even number of these little guys! Jared, king of random raps and rhymes called this a psychedelic snail with a quail, but we soon learned it was not a quail and were pretty bummed that didn't apply anymore. Hehehe

This was us on our 1st anniversary. I feel like we make quite the pair. <3

If you take a closer look at these two boring looking landscape photos you can see there are 2 very strange clouds just sitting in the sky. They were there for a very long time, we even drove about 20 miles away and took another photo from a totally different angle. These photos don't show how interesting it looked but these are the 2 very lazy clouds all snuggled together that we saw this week.

Jared's cat in-scent holder and my make shift ash catcher, always sitting on the entertainment center waiting for a lighter or a match to wander by and light up a in-scent with a interesting name like, "Vanilla Summer".
I bought these two owls and they were separated in my house forever. One was being used as a door stop. Well, I would not want to be the door stop owl, so I found something else and put him back with his brother. I am over thinking it but hey, that is what I do.

We found this really amazing looking tree art at a second hand store. I thought it was really cool that it was a different take on a tree, I would have never thought about that! Now all I have to do is find a place to put it.

My favorite find this week. It reminds me of Joseph's coat of many colors. I am going to wear thing thing out. I am sure of it, after all it is so cool
how could I not wear it ALL THE TIME!!!!???

Lastly my little couple of babies. Map's is getting so big, I hope she does not pull our entire Christmas tree down. I have already heard a few bulbs fall and her batting them around against the floor. (Yipes!) Who knows though? Maybe MerDock will teach his ways, and by "ways" as you can see down below, I mean chilling out in the sun light not getting into anything and everything. One can only dream. :)
